I would definitely try removing and reinstalling the cpu. With the weight of
the fan/heatsink on it, a tip over in the car might have been enough to
dislodge something or cause a loose connection somewhere. Cpu fan could have
physically failed, I'd try another one of those to see if the fan header has
voltage.
