From Colman Ezkovich
Paul:
When I said all else is as it should be, I meant that bootmenu=1 was
already there. My delay was set at six seconds. There is something
that keeps the menu from showing, but it is obviously there as it
responds to key movement. There must be something somewhere causing
this. If I set FreshUI to Always show boot menu it never works. If I
add allow F8 etc to work, I sometimes get the menu. And if not I get
the static lines which obviously represent the menu because of key
movement. I'm about ready to give up.

: Greetings Colman, et. al.--
:
: Edit msdos.sys to add the following two lines at the bottom of the
file:
: BootMenu=1
: BootMenuDelay=10.
: Save the file and (if you like) attribute it hidden and read-only.
:
: When you reboot you should have the boot menu displayed for 10
seconds.
:
: It is possible that FreshUI may have muddied the waters some. I
changed some
: settings with the XP version of it and on shutdown I now receive
several "This program is not responding ...." messages that I did not
receive before...Now, if I can just remember which settings I changed,
so I can change them back...
:
: Good luck,
