I seem to recall reading - somewhere (maybe here?) - that gluconeogenesis
is a very inefficient process, and only occurs when the conditions are
right. Seems like 58%, as a rule of thumb, is high. I would suspect it's
close when eating very low-carb, but probably not nearly as high when
eating a more "normal" diet.
