Hello Brian,
From what you have stated, it sounds as though what you ending up with is
essentially a 'raw' hard drive. No partition, no filing system... nothing.
Without knowing what tools you used to do this and what your ultimate
objective is, it's difficult, at best, to offer assistance. Do you plan to
install an operating system on this drive or use it for data (storage)? Are
you using the drive maker's software for partitioning and formatting or
other tools such as the Fdisk and Format tools contained on a Win9x startup
disk?

Subject: [PCBUILD] formatting/partitioning a hard drive
I'm trying to reformat a hard drive and am having problems. I formated drive
C then proceded to delete the partition. then the computer said that it
needed to be restarted so I powered down and started back up. Now when it
starts up it just has a under score like this _ flashing in the upper left
hand corner and stays that way. The computer acts like it's trying to read
the A drive but nothing happens. So if you could please help me in any way I
thank you in advance.
