Dear Listmates -
I need your input on this:
I have lost a little bone density - I have Osteopenia, but the hips are
Osteopenia
bone-density wise and borderline Osteoporosis structurally - on an x-ray
of hips.

The Orthopaedist I went to wants me to try Forteo injectable -
self-injected
every day for two years - to build bone. The Endocrinologist I went to says
to try Actonel weekly, since his tests show my absorption is pretty good
(I've
been gluten-free for over 5 years).

Since I have a sensitive, reactive body and experience side effects and
adverse
reactions easily, especially since I also have Fibromyalgia, would I be
better off trying the daily Actonel, not the weekly, so that if I have a
problem,
the medicine won't be in my system for a week?

Do listmates tolerate the daily better, or the weekly, or what?

The Forteo is something I have ruled out for now, due to the fact that
the most
common side effect is something I already have problems with and don't want
it made worse. It was also in clinical trials only 2 years and caused
sarcomas
(bone cancers) in rats at higher doses.

Your feedback is appreciated. I need some help with this.
Thank you.

Vicki
