Ginny,

You commented that there are addictive agents in most starches. I am
aware of gluten grains having morphine-like substances in them. What
about non-gluten grains? I have not seen any research or suggestions
for other grains containing addictive substances. I ask this because
while I feel will feel the addictive effect of wheat and other gluten
grains, I do not experience the effect from grains such as quinoa,
amaranth and rice. In the past as the summer approaches and my
caloric needs increase I usually find myself occasionally eating
these foods. Is there something that I should know about these
grains of which I am unaware?

Mike
