My experience has been that no beeps indicates a bad motherboard though, as
Doug mentioned, bad RAM could also cause this situation and is easier to
diagnose

With the absence of beeps, my first guess at the problem would be a bad
stick of memory. If you have multiple DIMMS , try removing them one at a
time to see if the PC will start. Quick, easy, cheap for a first attempt.
