Hi Guys,
I'm just letting you know that it may be a bit quiet from your one and
only Maine contributor for a few days. I'm letting you know now because,
who knows when I will get a chance on the computer again. I will be
leaving early Monday Morning for a pastors' wives conference in
Florida. To be truthful, I'm not really looking forward to it. I'm not
really into a bunch of ladies getting together to get lectured at and all
that kind of thing, but it is a gift from the church and it shows a lot of
care and love on their part, so I am going. Gee, who knows, it might
actually be good for me.
I will return home next Friday evening around 10:30 and then we plan to
leave on Sunday Afternoon for Connecticut with Chris. I continue to be
amazed at how the Lord continues to remove obstacles for this move in our
lives. The school and the court ordered family counselor have given us
their blessing, so to speak and Chris's employer has also agreed to hold
Chris's job open for him for when he returns. Chris has been behaving
better lately, but this often happens before a new counseling approach is
begun. He did the same when we were seeing a counselor over a year ago so
we don't really believe that he is reformed. In fact, I overheard him
wishing that he could get hi while he was talking on the phone the other
day. Unfortunately, pot is probably like alcohol, a desireable feeling
that you just have to say "NO," to because it really isn't good for you.
Matt has been given another try at Calvin. He is on what is called
academic detention which means that he can only take twelve hours of
academics and work twelve hours a week and he needs to get at least a C in
all of his classes, but as we know, the school work was never the problem,
the time management was, so Matt should be easily able to fulfill the
requirements that the college is asking of him, if he just puts his school
work first.
Hey, I'd appreciate it too if you could keep Greg and me in prayer because
beginning tonight, we will be offering the ALPHA program in our home. This
will be every Friday until the Friday after Easter. It could be really
lively too. If all the people come who are supposed to, we may have a
person from a Jehovah's witness background and a couple of inactive
Catholics. I just needed something like this because i didn't have enough
stress in my life. Actually, it feels good to be doing something like this
rather than facing my family problems full time. Oh, I just pray for
blessing on the ministry for God's glory and that those in the darkness
will be drawn to His light and eagerly seek His face.
God bless Guys!
Kathy
