Grant,
The church situation that you described in your post is similar to ours.
Most of our people are on a fixed income. So far, the people are trying
to support us, but they can't stop the cost of insurance from rising or
heating oil and so forth. Greg already does work for the post office at
least one day a week to make ends meet for the family and there are a lot
of things that we do or purchase for the church that we do not ask to be
reimbursed for on any business expences. There are a lot of spiritual
problems hear. The people used to do fund raisers, but Greg and I prayed
that they would stop and they have. Now, however, we continue to fall
about $400 further behind every week in our budget so, of course, I'm
wanting to rethink the fund raising issue. I feel the same way that you
guys do, but I guess that I just needed an objective reality check from
the outside.
