Phil,
Just wanted to let you know I'm praying for Gretchen. Never having had
kids, I don't really have anything else to offer. But I also have a question.
You wrote "Rebellion is a sign of witchcraft according to Scripture, too, so
at least we know what we are dealing with." The closest verse I know, or
could find when I did an online Bible search, is 1 Samuel 15:
For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as
iniquity and idolatry. Because thou hast rejected the word of the
LORD, he hath also rejected thee from being king.
I always understood this to be saying that rebellion is equally as abhorrent
to God as is witchcraft; am I missing something in the orginal language? It
seems that, if we took it to mean that rebellion and witchcraft are the same
thing, we'd have to conclude that every human who's ever lived, except Jesus,
was a witch at some time. <smile> Or is there another verse to which you're
referring?
Confused,
Roberta
