Thanks so much to all who have written about which brand of soups to buy! Sometimes you just don't have time to make your own from scratch. It's nice to know that there are alternatives.'

Thanks to Kathy Mead who asked this same question in 2003. She sent the listing of Campbell's GF soups, which are listed on www.Campbellsoup.com .

Nearly everyone said to get Progresso soups, particularly the chicken and wild rice, chicken, cream of mushroom, split pea, lentil, clam chowder thickened with corn starch; French Onion; Southwestern Chicken.

One said to be careful, however, b/c not all Progresso soups are GF.

-Other brands were: Marie Calendar's; Amy's organic chunky tomato bisque (buy at Whole Foods, health food stories, Shoprite, Wegman's, or go to www.amys.com); Whole Foods tomato soup "seems to be" GF; Shelton's at the Whole Food Stores; Wolfgang Puck soups are marked "gluten free" on the back; Healthy Choice soups, Swanson Chicken Broth, Imagine soups in cartons; Heinz tomato soup; Campbell's Chicken and Rice.

- Whole Foods site has a section on soups: http://www.wholefoodsmarket.com/healthinfo/gluten.pdf.

-Kitchen Basics Chicken Broth is gluten free and they will send you a free cook book. Many Progresso soups are gluten free; go to this article to start
http://www.glutenfree.com/files/perils_spring04.pdf

- I suggest you to go to the Delphi CD Support Group Forum and look at the GF Product Lists.
To access the forum, login there: http://forums.delphiforums.com/celiac/start
Then, go to the GF product lists:

- The Celiac Sprue Association out of Omaha, NE. is a good organization. I
joined their organization and purchased their manufacturer's guide to name
brand products-it was a tremendous help in getting info like this. It costs
$25.00 and $5 to ship but is worth every dime!

-Some of Lipton's Cup O Soups are GF, (check their web site) and make great
sauce bases as well as soup.
