George called me last night before leaving for work. He works nights from
10 PM till 6 or so in the morning for Wal-Mart. His daughter is still in
the hospital and they were giving her the wrong medication for like four
days until somebody figured it out. Her cat scan, as I mentioned, showed
further deterioration of her lungs. I knew, the moment George told me this,
it would trigger an anxiety attack sooner or later. When he got home, he
slept for awhile before going to work but when he got up last night, he
called me and we prayed. I could tell on the phone how bad he was and had
already instructed him about the medication he was on. He was already
taking more than the doctor said. When I got off the phone with him last
night, I prayed throughout the evening for him because the way he sounded, I
was afraid he might take more medication just to get relief. He did and
over dosed. No, he wasn't trying to kill himself. If he was, he would have
taken the whole bottle. Some Christian neighbors took him to the emergency
room. He was ok but had to be taken to the mental health hospital to answer
some questions like, what do you think you were doing any way taking that
much dope? The county sheriff drove him to the hospital and as they went,
come to find out, the cop is a born again Christian. He sat with George
during the meeting with the mental health specialist and George told this
unsaved guy everything about intercessory prayer, the Lord, renewing of the
mind, and a whole lot more. Of course, George was probably a little high by
this time, haw. The MH guy probably thought, well, shoot, that Christian
prayer stuff ain't helping him at all but George said he told the guy, if
you think I am bad now, you should have seen me 11 months ago. The sheriff
invited George to come to his church on the way home. This experience,
believe it or not, has already brought some special healing to George and
his wife in ways that would take a book to describe. I called George's cell
phone last night while I thought he was at work but his neighbor answered
and I thought it was his wife. The neighbor never told me, of course, she
was at the hospital at that moment with George.

Phil.
