I'm back with an updated response.

Most recently, I have spoken with a couple of folks beta testing the new
speech interface for the Mac.

The bad news is that it is not quite ready for release, or even prime time
yet.  There are still big flaws and holes in the accessibility.

The good news is that it is getting closer!  There is some web browsing
capability, a real change since my last report, and things are smoother and
better than in the past.

Apple is moving toward accessibility, nobody knows quite when...
