Sounds like it could be the beginnings of celiac disease (gluten
intolerance).
If this is your problem, and you eat a true paleo diet, it should turn
around very quickly.

A sample day for me:

Breakfast: sausage or chemical-free ham, eggs, sometimes omelette
Lunch: chef salad: lettuce, carrots, celery, green pepper, radish, etc.
etc. turkey or other
   meat, dressing.
Dinner: red meat, or chicken, or fish; two kinds of veggies either raw
or cooked, such as
broccoli, snap peas, jicama, mushrooms, etc.; 1 serving of fruit.

Lacto fermented pickles in small amounts daily are
supposed to be good for the digestion. Salt is a bone of contention on
this list;
salt would have been readily available to some paleo peoples (seacoast), and
not to others except by trade. Salt is essential to life, but harmful
in the quantities
in the standard American diet. A paleo person would need some kind of
container, and a source of salt, and a cool place to let it all
ferment. I don't
think pickling was an impossibility for them.
