Hi Guys,
Last night, we had a very pleasant phone conversation with Chris. He
apologized for blowing up over the money issues this past Friday during
our therapy session. He stated that he had hoped to just be able to come
home and prove that he could make responsible choices with his money. He
also said that he is anxious to get home and make a new start. He's still
interested in trying out the Calvary Chapel school. He's been reading his
bible and he enjoys getting good grades. He didn't ask for anything or
complain about us at all. He mentioned that he is seeing kids who are in
much worse situations than he is and, maybe, he is beginning to appreciate
what he has. When the conversation ended, I almost dared to look forward
to his home coming.
I know that the Lord has to do a lot of work in my life too, helping me to
look forward and dare to believe, to hope, to get along. There are a lot
of issues of trust on both sides that need to be rebuilt. I just pray that
it is beginning though. I do not wish to be at enmity with Chris. I want
to be his encourager, so badly. We must continue to pray.
Today Greg found a really wild, bright red, shaggy throw for his
room. It's wile! The best part is that he can take it with him when he
does finally move out, but we think that he'll really love it. Parents
love doing for their children the way that God always loves doing for
us. It's too bad that our sin so often gets in the way and blocks the
blessing that He longs to give.
God bless,
Kathy
Always for His glory!
