No, the wireless routers all use the same frequency range. 802.11B is the
standard and any 802.11B router will talk with any 802.11B wireless card; they
work near 2.4GHz.
My DLink DI614+ works at 11MBPS with other wireless cards, but if you get the
matching DLink AirPlus interface, it will run at up to 22MBPS.
