Well compare prices as well.  No problem with to much speech on the 480,
because it only tells you what you ask it.
I'd have a cw filter installed at the time of purchase along with the
speech board.  With the variable bandpass, IF filter, and audio filter
adjustable down to 50HZ, can't think of a time where QRM ruined the QSO.  I
did find I had to adjust the keyer weight, to make it send properly over 25
WPM.
It has taken over my CW work from the old Omni D, which was a dream CW rig
in it's time.
