This list was originally set up to follow Neanderthin, and it still is the
paleo diet variant most followed here. Ray says it is okay if it is edible
raw with no processing. This rule makes about all herbs and spices paleo.
Then there is a subset of paleo diet followers that is skeptical of New
World foods. As cayenne pepper is New World some may prefer to skip it.
