The FCC has levied a 100,000 plus fine on a truck stop company selling ten
meter equipment that can be easily modified to illegal, overpowered CB
equipment. The sales people call it a CB radio. I don't know what the
outcome is, but we have passed the information along to a truck stop
company in the Bangor area doing the same thing. We're hoping a word to
the wise will be sufficient, but so far, no response.
