Hi Butch,
I just bought an IC703 which covers 160-10 meters The plus version of the
703 also covers 6 meters, but I bought the 703 when dealers were closing
them out at $395.00. The 703 has power savings advantages over the 706.
Its receiver draws less then .25 amps and it has a built in tuner for 80-10
meters. I've only used the rig a couple of times, cause right now, my low
band antennas are down, but I got the impression that the 703's receiver was
a little less noisy than my 706mark II

I haven't kept up on models. What exactly is the 703. I gather it does
not cover 2 and 440, but otherwise is it similar to the 706? Also what is
aproximate price?
