I use a ground mounted Butternut vertical with lots of radials. It is often
as good or better than my 130 foot end fed Zepp. I have also gotten my
"marching orders" from the boss to keep all antennas in the back yard!

Thanks Howard, I am not giving up on the g5rv antenna but I am going to take
a break. I know it is a good antenna but I have a patio cover, wire fence
and storage building that I believe is coupling with the antenna. There is
no other way or direction that I can run the antenna. I will think about it
for awhile, there usually another solution. My wife does not mind my
antennas as long as I keep them in the back yard and that limits my space
but I am not complaining as she is very helpful.
