I had 11 responses.

2 were from people who have bleeding in the eye not optic neuritis

2 people mentioned visual disturbances but not a diagnosis of ON. One said
that visual disturbances resolved with a GF diet

1 person had trigeminal neuralgia which improved after 9 mos on a GF diet

2 has a diagnosis of MS/ON/CD. CD was diagnosed after MS and ON for both.
One mentioned improvement in neurological symptoms after starting a GF diet.

1 person has ON, Sjogren's and possibly sarcoid and has not improved with a
GF diet

1 person has not had further problems with optic neuritis after starting a
GF diet.

1 person has a relative who has ON and MS and wonders if she could also have
CD.

Optic neuritis is an inflammation of the optic nerve often associated with
MS but often no cause if found. It can occur once or it can be recurrent. It
is often treated with IV steroids and oral prednisone.

There is a new article about MS and CD.

"Gluten sensitivity as a neurological illness" by Hadjivassiliou mentions
the importance of IgG in people with neurological problems. To to
"contentious issues" http://jnnp.bmjjournals.com/cgi/content/full/72/5/560

Thanks, Anne
