I am the one who had bleeding behind my retina from Vit E and other anti-oxidants, namely alpha-lipoic acid. My md's told me to avoid takint aspirin as well since that also thins the blood. I was taking the 'accepted' does of 400 iu
Interstingly, looking back, I realize that I had warning signs years ago from the aspirin....severe nose bleeds and if I took it for cramps, the FOLLOWING month, my period was much heavier.
The moral of the story is don't be too quick to pop these pills. I'll lay odds that your md may not be aware of the bleeding aspect of anti-oxidants. In fact, when I questioned the md's about it, they denied the connection!! But, when I stopped taking them, the bleeding stopped immediately! And who told me about this connection? You're going to love this....my vet who was reseaching it in animals!
