If you are interested in supplementing your Omega-3 intake,
you might simply eat foods that are properly balanced in Omega-3 and
-6 in the first place. Balance is what one needs - not necessarily
supplementation. Grass-fed red meats and range-free, organic, fertile
chicken eggs are, for example, balanced properly. The recommendations
you read are a response to a diet of grain-fed meats and other processed
foods which does require supplementation to balance out. Also, deep-sea
fish will provide plenty of fish oil without the concern of vitamin
overdoses. Finally, as you mentioned wanting to loose weight, the CLA
found in red meat will support and help in that regard.
