Hi,
Yes to #1 - it connects by USB and if you get a combo case it could be
USB or Firewire.
They sell for about $35-$45. A 250 gig hard drive is around $165.
The Maxtor one touch 250 is about $260. Yes it is easy to backup, but
it is always what it is.
When you get a 5.25 case it could be changed to something else in
minutes if need be (any other type of ide device).
2) so does the box you assemble yourself. It becomes the next drive(s)
down the line, depending on partitions on the drive.
Thanks and have a Great day!

Hi
some time back I did see a posting regarding the Maxtor one touch the
person who replied to the list member said he had bought a outboard
case. I would like some further details
1. how do you connect this portable device to the computer I asume it
has a power suply which you plug into a local plug socket. Is the
computer connection a usb.
2. I have been told that the Maxtor will also suppot a operating system
such as linux or windows. in other words it works the same as the
computers onboard hard drive.
