Todd > You know, I'm not sure.  I've seen the 58% figure many times, but there seems to be a lot of contradictory "information" on this.  Some sources say that protein alone causes no rise in BG but in my own case I've measure the increase many times.  I'm hunting for more info.

Ron Rosedale's excellent new book, while "diet bookish" like Cordain's, may be the source you're looking for.  He says that protein clearly causes BG jumps.
