IMHO if we lived in such a severe climate we would also show signs of
rapid aging.

I've been there for months in winter. I was supported by the might of
modern industrial civilisation, meaning diesel-electric generators,
diesel-burning space heater, propane cook stove, an aircraft to bring me
food & mail etc. etc.

well-travelled.
