Maddy, I too believe that neither grains nor dairy are paleo. I avoided
them both during about six months starting autumn 2002. Then I jumped back
and forth between paleo and non-paleo
foods (or what I thought was paleo).
For the most part I avoided both grains and dairy. During that period I
found that I tolerate fermented dairy, but not unfermented.
The only grain I currently eat is rye. Wheat I fear and oats appear to give
me eczema. Rye has a long tradition in my homeland. I make my own pure rye
sourdough bread. There's nothing like it in the stores where I currently
live.
You mention success. I've only been eating this way less than two months.
It is possible I'll have to go back to paleo some day, somehow avoiding
excessive fruit/berrie consumtion.
