In view of recent posts, I suspect that what I want to ask ought to be tied to some
particular thread, but I don't know which ones, so I'm just making a new thread for
the moment.
I feel I must have missed some significant evolution in what is considered paleo,
either that, or I have completely misunderstood a number of recent posts... when
did olive or coconut oil become more paleo that naturally occurring animal fat? Or is
it just considered more healthful?
I can understand the objections to dairy fats like cream and butter, but not to beef,
pork, lamb, chicken fats used in moderation or in naturally occurring conjunction
with good quality meats. I was raised on our own grassfed beef and natural chickens
and ducks, with the odd side of venison or lamb thrown in by trading a neighbor...
this is what I am always trying to get back to in my current urban existence.
I do keep a quantity of cold-pressed extravirgin olive oil, and a small jar of coconut
oil, in the fridge, but I rely in general on naturally occurring animal fats... could
someone either explain the issues succinctly, or refer me to specific
messages/threads in the archives? There have been a lot of days over the past year
or so when I was forced to simply delete most of my email, and I apologize for not
keeping up.
thank you,
Molly
