PANORAMA with 'Bulfaaleh' AU respecting charters and membership not President Jammeh.
The insider I have been speaking to says...AU is not in for President Jammeh,it is obliged to come.
Many people cannot still find out the reason behind the AU's decision to meet in The Gambia? To be hosted by a President who feeds on human flesh and blood? Within a personal perspective it is not going to be easy for any of us to accept what is going. However, within a professional mind the insider I spoke to today advanced the following idea in response to the AU's critics on line. Or vis-à-vis its readiness to meet in Banjul at all cost. In all honesty I am not convinced but what the person I met today said cannot also be thrown away as rubbish.
AU CHAIRMAN:BANJUL IS NOT THE RIGHT
PLACE TO HOST SUCH AN IMPORTANT FORUM
According to my source, The Gambia is a member state of ECOWAS,AU and other International organizations. It has been in there well before Jammeh came to power. "The essence of meeting in chosen destinations based on the AU's provisions and charters is not for any President. It is for the people in these given countries..." At least this is what my source said when we were discussing in his office at State House yesterday. My source gave me an example that was not easy to dispell. He referred to the years when The Gambia was represented at the UN. Of course the country was still under President Jammeh. Worst of all The Gambia was at the UN before the 2001 elections according to my source. This he said is a good example showing why pariah leaders like Jammeh are a liability to these regional or International bodies especially when it comes to respecting charters and so on.
SOLDIERS MISSING IN GAMBIA
Officials like Julia Joiner could not have done the contrary i.e. she could not have refused coming to meet Jammeh with that special message. This is what my source advanced as his argument. He of course does not like Jammeh at all, however,he was trying to sell the professional version alongside.
Our people should not be angry with the AU. The member states are avoiding one thing. That is, for President Jammeh NOT to start castigating them at the UN if they were to refuse coming to Banjul. This diplomat said many Gambians will be surprised in June, according to him Jammeh will get the shock of his life. He is not going to be patronized by these various leaders as he expects it to happen!
AU Presidents aren't all going to come, they will be sending in their VPs or other representatives.
According to the same insider I spoke to yesterday, many African Presidents will not be coming to Banjul. They will simply send their VPs or other official reps. My source said, he will not be surprised if Presidents like Wade or Colonel Ghadafi fail to come in person. There are rumours that General Obasanjo also is not so happy with President Jammeh. My source referred to the latest OIL Commission in Nigeria which was set up a day or two ago to look into the crude oil sagas. These sagas took place between Banjul and Abuja during General Abacha's era. The news in the streets of Nigeria has made many Nigerians dislike Jammeh. My source said he has seen panick in the state house. Sources have revealed that, officials are burning every memo or document related to the crude oil from Nigeria.
TOP SECRET from state house leaks!
Sources have revealed that 2 out of President Jammeh's state guards are missing. The same source said these two were not killed. They managed to abscond for obvious reasons. Their names are withheld for now, however they will be released in due course. This is deliberate. We want another denial from the state house first before exposing the names on line. President Jammeh and his agents are saying that we compose our stories, that being the case here is a challenge for them. We will set another example for Jammeh to know how deep his household has been penetrated. The other source I spoke to from Kanilai said, these guards were part of the CHIAKAS.They felt being used for wrong reasons therefore ran away. It is believed that they absconded about 3 to 4 months back. They maybe in a West African country close to Sierra Leone or have even gone abroad. It has also been reported that one of the soldiers had an axe to grind with Lang Tamba the chief of staff.
