Well, unless your friend is legally of diminished mental capacity or  
is ruled incapable of managing her own affairs by the courts, she has  
every right to manage her own money, her own assets, and her own life.

But this is the crucial question here - has she indicated in any way  
that she wants to leave the situation or feels she is being abused?   
You can talk until you're blue in the face but the abuse victim has  
to make the decision to leave, not her family or friends.

Just my personal observation after years of talking to friends in  
similar situations.
