The restoration of the Paramount Theater in Oakland is actually the sort of
work we do. This is a unique place, lovingly restored under the direction of
former General Manager, Peter Botto, over the course of 25 years. It was
restored to recreate, as closely as possible in every detail, the appearance
of the theater when it opened in 1931 or 32, only to close a year later. We
worked on producing custom-matched glaze-repair materials for the building's
70-foot high marquis, composed of 14,000 Gladding McBean terra cotta tiles in
70 colors.
