okay.. you asked me about the other list... alas, 'they' didn't kick me
off, I'd have to do that myself, since I"m the owner of the list....
(although I perhaps ought to
consider it! ) My list is a list of therapists ("shrinks" if you
like...) that strive to work in "collaborative" ways with clients..
After I joined your list, I went back and re-read the intro... and
figured that it must be about " histo-presto" (your term! ) but was
particularly fascinated by use of language/humor on your list... and in
your archives... By pure coincidence, I do happen to be interested in
historic preservation- at least am supportive of the concept, and of
course see it's value for a culture.... but alas I cannot claim any
direct knowledge, especially of construction issues... other than
experience with close inspection of bed and breakfasts, meeting halls,
etc. I do have the distinction of having graduated in an fully restored
Art Deco theater (Paramount Theater in Oakland, California? (can that
count as a membership here for a few weeks? ) I'd love to hear a bit
more about what some of you do, your interest and involvement in
restoration.... etc and perhaps the challenges you
encouter/overcome??????
Do let me know if my participation here is too far off topic for your
list... If so, I will leave politely.. having enjoyed enormously my
short time here.. given the use of language and humor here!
:-) (Jean) (really, my name is Bonnie... I used "Jean", not knowing if
I was going to stay here more than a day or so..... )
