A message from the MMSD (please contact Al Felice for additional
information): Whatever support you can offer is welcome.

On Saturday April 16th (this Saturday) the Madison School District is
holding its first-ever conference for 8th & 9th graders of color and
their families. We are trying to support 8th & 9th graders in their
transition to and through high school. The conference starts at 8:30
- 3:30 on Saturday.

We have speakers and panels presenting on issues like motivation,
cultural transition, and career exploration. Our featured speaker
will be Ms. Carlotta LaNier, one of the "Little Rock Nine", one of
the nine teens who first integrated schools in the South.

We need help in getting the message out to parents and kids who might
be interested in attending. You can call or write me with any
questions.
