Subject: a new Usenet news group for jfw usersFW: alt.comp.blind-users.jfw

I have asked that a news group be created for JFW users. This isn't because
of any particular problem with any of the JFW mailing lists, but, there are
to me so many downsides to using a mailing list over a news group that I
thought I'd try to convince JFW users to try a better alternative to see.

Advantages to the news group include:

It's unmoderated, so say whatever you like.

It won't fill your email inbox if you don't read your mail every day.

You don't have to spend a lot of time downloading the text of all the
messages just so you can read a few ones (you only have to download message
headers).

Please follow the suggestion below and wait a few days, then ask your ISP to
carry this news group on its news server.

The name of the new news group is alt.comp.blind-users.jfw

Hope to see you there.

congratulations! a valid creation control message has been sent for:
alt.comp.blind-users.jfw

it will automatically appear on the isc.org 'master' list within the
next few hours. if you notice any mentions of 'rmgroup' messages,
ignore them. the are a control method of the past that is now totally
ignored by isc.org (the maintainers of the usenet 'master' enwsgroups
file) and a large majority of the major usenet services.

the new newsgroup alt.comp.blind-users.jfw will appear on
several commercial usenet provider's incoming feeds automatically
also. however, you will still (most likely) need to request its
addition to your individual usenet service's feed.

for best results, wait a day or two and then request that your usenet
provider or isp add alt.comp.blind-users.jfw. it usually helps
aid their decision if you mention that "it is already a valid group
and is listed at isc.org".

if you know of others that might be interested in:
alt.comp.blind-users.jfw
please contact them and ask that they request their usenet providers
add it to their feeds also.

best of luck!
