Hello List Members,

Thank you for all the replies on oats, on whether it is eaten and if so the
type consumed. The vast majority of responses fell into two groups: those
who eat McCann's Brand (20 replies) and those who do not eat oats for various
reasons (17).

A summary of replies of those who eat Irish oats is as follows:

20 people eat McCann's oatmeal, a product of Ireland.

5 people eat "Irish" oatmeal, not specifying which brand.

1 prefers Wessex (Irish).

Summary of other brands of oats:

3 eat any oats.

2 eat Quaker.

..............................................................................
.........................................................

17 do not eat oats, for reasons including they cannot tolerate oats, concern
that they are not safe, and "became sick."

Those who ate McCann's were confident of the growing and processing of oats
in Ireland. Many said wheat is not grown in Ireland and that the country is
more in tune to the needs of Celiacs.

Several respondents (4 or 5) who do eat oats said they limit their oats
consumption.

Roselyn
