Thank you to everyone who took the time to share with
me and welcome me to Philly. I've had over 20 e-mails
with a wide variety of helpful suggestions and
information. Here's a brief summary of what I've
learned:
1. Mr. Ritts (mrritts.com) is a dedicated gluten free
bakery in Philly
2. The Dietary Shoppe is a specialty gluten free store
in Philly
3. Whole Foods/Fresh Fields market in Philly sells
many gluten free items
4. The Philadelphia support group is very large and
active. The website is
http://www.philaceliacgroup.netfirms.com/
5. Trader Joe’s in Center City has a long gluten free
list
6. Maggianno's is an Italian restaurant that is celiac
friendly, and will cook your gluten free pasta
7. The chef at Django Gypsy Cafe (Fourth Street
between South and Lombard) will designate which dishes
are gluten free, but it takes a while to get a
reservation
8. Fitzwater Cafe (7th & Fitzwater across from the
Saloon) will cook your pasta for you
If you want more detail on any item, please feel free
to write me directly. Also, if I'm missing anything,
please tell me and I'll resummarize. I look forward to
meeting you all at the next support group meeting!
Thanks again for all your help.
Ross
