Have you tried pressing Control+E when this happens? Also, when you
launch Internet Explorer, is that what comes up as well? Look and see
what your default home page is. Look under Tools and Mail and News
Options. It should be the first thing on the General Property Sheet.

Subject: help, it's driving me mad

I use windows 98se.

All of a sudden, whenever I want to use a favorite or go to a web link
from my desktop, allinplay, for example, instead of going to the
favorite page or the link I want, I am thrust into a search which is
somehow related to msn search where I could search for a business, look
up a word, so on and so forth. All I want to do is go where I want and
avoid this msn search page. If I type in the address from internet
explorer it usually goes where I tell it to but if I press enter on a
favorite link more than likely I get this blasted search page and it
won't go on to my link. I went into ie and unchecked search but that
seemed to make no difference; which is not too surprising since this
thing says it is msn search. I do not even use msn. However, when my
stepdaughter is here, I think she uses msn. I do not see msn on the
desktop and did not find it in programs. How can I get rid of this msn
search fluke? Help, Help. Extremely frustrated.
