How sure are we of that? We know the agricultural revolution "officially"
dates back to the planting of grains, but is it not possible other
fruits/veggies were planted before that?

Grains have the distinct advantage over other plants (with the exception of
certain tubers) in that they can be stored for extended periods of time. I
believe that's why they eventually dominated agriculture. Not because of
their addictive nature.
