EASI's Two May Courses
Barrier-free Information Technology
Creating and Repurposing More Accessible Content
The first of these month-long, online courses is a good, general overview
of what is needed for an institution or organization to make all of its
information technology accessible to everyone. Information technology
provides the opportunity to make a level learning and working space for
everyone, but, poor design can throw up new and needless barriers instead.

The second provides tips and experiences in creating accessible content
using the authoring tools we use every day. Most of us never had training
in using these applications and are self-taught. Mastering the features
built into the application and structuring the content well will make our
content better, more professional and more accessible. Using these features
also means that when the content is converted or repurposed into different
document or file types, the structure of the content will probably also be
converted.
The course, for the first time, will begin to look at the e-book formats
being used by today's e-book publishers.
