Sue -
I believe that the Blue Screen was more likely CAUSED by the drive.
While you can "see" it and it appears to be working properly, I would
venture that the drive may very well be defective.
Since you have all the information in another place anyways, I don't see
the harm in trying to format the drive. Before you do that, I would
suggest you open the machine up and make sure all the cables are firmly
seated (both at the drive and at the motherboard). Also, I wouldn't
trust the drive with any critical data.
