I had a similar problem when networking a computer pair through a router
when one of them was running Norton SystemWorks. After leaving a high
percentage of my hair on the floor, I dug through the various settings in
Norton
and found that there is a personal firewall incorporated, and that it did
load
by default. When I investigated further, I found that there was a feature
similar
to ZoneAlarm's allowing me to place the IP address of the other machine
into a trusted zone. Once I did that, the computers could access all
resources
that were intended to be shared.
