Ken,

You're right! My hobby is photography - mostly landscape and wildlife.
I've done a couple of cityscapes but wasn't real pleased, and as far as
pix of people, they (the subjects) don't like to hold still long enough.
The Tetons and I can wait until the lighting is just right, and neither
of us minds.

Kendall Corbett

The reasonable man adapts himself to the world; the unreasonable one
persists in trying to adapt the world to himself. Therefore, all
progress depends on the unreasonable man.

Subject: [C-PALSY] my hobby, if not interested, please delete

the only big discussion lately is/was politics.
i will try to put something new out. my hobby.
eveybody needs one, and we might be interested in
yours.
i am a numismatist. that means i collect coins. one
can collect by dates. most do. i collect 1950-1970
proof coins, the new american state quarters in silver
proof.
some collect what is called exonomia with is
numismatic related material. i do that too, collecting
medals and tokens from hawaii. i probably have the
most extensive numismatic hawaiiana collection in
georgia. not that much of a feat as not that many in
georgia collect hawaiiana.
another type collecting is toned collecting. toning
is what one calls the result of the coin reacting with
the environment. for example silverware tarnishes. in
a coin it is called toning. some toning is ugly. some
is quite colorful and pretty. with toned coins, one
can have several of the same date and denomination and
becouse toning is different from coin to coin have
different charactists. i have serveral very pretty
1960-1964 nickles. all are different.
i will show you some of my toned cents commonly
called pennies. the dates are common, the coins are
not.
oh, if the address ends with an "o" it is the front
of the coin called obverse and if it ends in an "r" it
is the back or reverse.
you have heard the saying "it will cost you a pretty
penny." these are the pretty pennies, or at least in
my estimation.
