Sounds Baroque to me, and like something unique.

Are we talking new construction and some idiot kid's (or Robt AM Stern's) idea of how to cut stone, or has it got some age to it, so it was designed by somebody who presumably knew what the hell s/he was doing, and it's just WE who don't understand it?
