I wouldn't get too hung up on that. Those scales work by electrical
impedance, which can be changed by a lot of things besides bodyfat
(hydration, for one). They're also calibrated based on statistical
averages, and will not be terribly accurate if you're in better (or worse)
shape than the average population. The fact that your scale doesn't
change "no matter what you do" makes me question it even more. ;-) If
you want a simple, cheap, and reasonably accurate measure of bodyfat, get
a pair of bodyfat calipers.
Do you exercise regularly? Paleo man certainly did. (There's my lame
attempt to keep this on topic...)
