It is one of the borderline foods. Most wild gourds are quite
poisonous. Besides, you can eat a smallish amount of raw squash without
trouble, but try eating much more and you feel pretty bad, bloated
stomach and diarrhea. It is not poisonous, just something we are not
well adapted to digesting raw, like raw peanuts, potatoes etc.
