I stopped brushing my teeth in autumn 2002 while on a diet of only animals,
fruits, berries, vegetables and nuts. Later I made experiments with grains
and dairy and other foods, but always returned to the initially mentioned
diet. However around March 2004 I gave up my attempt to eat a paleolithic
diet and started consuming unrestricted amounts of rye and fermented dairy,
and later I added wheat as well. These foods took over my diet comple
tely
and have dominated ever since. I've eaten some animals as well but my
intake of vegetables and fruits has been very low.

After about two years of no brushing, except a handful of times, using only
toothbrush and water, my teeth feel strong and look fine, and there's no
smell in my mouth. This has been the case most of the time since autumn
2002. I have some plaque though on some of my back teeth, but I had it
already before 2002. I haven't visited a dentist for at least 5 years or
so. It seems what messes up my mouth is honey, maple syrup, too much salt,
and unfermented milk; so I avoid these things. I also suspect potatoes.

Paleo apparently isn't the only diet that allows, at least me, to avoid
brushing without seemingly no problems. I follow the principle of whole
foods, influenced by Weston A. Price.
