> Coming up on The Nature of things with David Suzuki, 2 show about the
state of agriculture .
here in British colombia , a new law have been passed that oblige any meats
to go thru certified plants ( maning big killing factory )
till now local butchers were deserving local small farms to handle low
volume of animals guaranteeing quality . the butchering being done
genertally by an old experienced farmer who could recognise by eye any
problem animals . the new butchering will be done by very specialised
factory employee .

that means the last blow on small scale farming as the expenses of having to
makes the animal and the meat travel cannot be absorbed by local farms of
small size .
that means no more selling at the farm gate of meats .
peoples will have to buy in big scale serviced retail shops .

my local butcher is living 4 kilometres down the road , with this new
regulation i can't even ask him to kill for my own consumption of meat.i
will have to go off island ,drive 30 kilometres, takes a ferry then drive
again 30 kilometres to reach the closest certified plant that might have to
close itself due to its small size , because of this new law .
i don't even know where is the big factory .

i will have to go back again to get my meat one to 3 weeks after ( not
even sure you will get yours ) , or it will be shipped frozen .( no more
fresh meats , no brain etc...).

i have been servicing other paleo customers with meats and can't do that
anymore meaning that if i kill a cow myself i will have to deal with the all
animal .

basically the corporatisation of the food production is on its way to allow
a few to control the whole food supply and by consequence the peoples who
eat .

i am so sad to hear that paleo eaters are still relying on commercial meats
to fulfill their needs , the shortsighness of this attitude will be paid by
all the peoples who desire to favorise health and small scale production of
foods .there is not enough of us as so many people are not willing to give
up the convenience of mass production. Cheap cheap cheap !
