A FOOD CHAIN RELEASE FROM METROFARM.COM

When in comes to food, white could be beautiful, but mostly its not!

This Saturday at 9AM Pacific, the Food Chain with Michael Olson hosts Selina
Delangre from the Grain and Salt Society for a conversation about salt.

(Listen here: http://www.metrofarm.com/index.asp?cat=40088)

Topics will include a brief history of the salt trade; the role salt plays
in human nutrition; and why all of the mineral nutrients, except sodium
chloride, are refined out of salt.

Listeners are invited to call the program on KFRM, KGET, KGOE, KMPH, KNTK,
KOMY, KSCO or TRUTH RADIO with questions and comments at 800-624-2665, or
log them to the discussion page at www.metrofarm.com.

NOTE: The Food Chain is now available to commercial radio stations
throughout the United States. Please help with the dissemination of the
program by copying the hotlink below and emailing it to the Program Director
of your favorite newstalk radio station. Tell her or him how much you would
like to hear the Food Chain in your area!

from my point of view of addisonian ( no secretion of cortisone and mineral
corticoids ) i have a double edge sword relationship with it .In the first
hand because i have a tendancy to waste my sodium salt can be very much life
savior ( if too much sodium is wasted you dehydrate to death). i have a very
strong attraction to salt ( i can even drink sea water at time ). on the
other hand i have an intuitive feeling that too much salt in my mother's
and mine diet in the past have been a contribuating factor in my adrenals
collapse .
too much salt will require adrenals to secrete too much cortisone or at
least aldosterone that is also secreted by the mineral cortex .
by the way if you see yourself attracted very much toward salty foods it is
a good indication that your adrenals are tired.

i have been trying on and off during the last 14 years to go without salt at
all . i have been able to go 3 months without salt except what is on sea
weed .
what i will recomend is to eat the salt that you need on its own , you will
have a clear instinctive stop if you don't need it .mixing with foods is
problematic because together you will end up eating more foods and more salt
that you really need . and any exces of sodium mean waste of calcium
.training yourself to apreciate unsalted food can lead you to like your food
better or at least for what they are .
i have been eating celic salt from the "marais of guerande" ( called celtic
salt here and resold at enormous prices in comparaison of the price
there )in France for 27 years .
i would like to see some analyses that reflect the potential pollutants that
could be a problem . i don't see that much problem from knowing the place
.may be bacterial from sceptic fields but i assume that no living thing
can survive in salt .
any way all my comments have to be taken with a grain of salt .
