I would think not for DOS.  Sound cards weren't supported very well under
DOS.  I haven't dabbled in LINNUX yet, but I suspect that the support for
sound cards is much better than under DOS, and therefore you would have the
necessary hardware and software support to recover the signals being sent
via the internet.  As for whatever other software is needed to support it,
I haven't looked into it yet.  But I would be willing to bet that there are
more resources at your disposal for LINNUX than for DOS.
